Das Nest hat eine runde, oben geschlossene Form mit einem seitlichen Einschlupf und bietet einen geschützten Rückzugs- und Nistplatz. Ein Aufhängehaken aus Draht gehört dazu, damit sich das Nest im Käfig oder in der Voliere befestigen lässt. Mit 8 x 8 x 10,6 cm ist es die kleinere Ausführung dieses Schilfnests.
