Seine breite, flache Form wurde mit Blick auf Katzen entwickelt, deren Schnurrhaare beim Fressen möglichst nicht am Rand anstoßen sollen. Der rund 8 mm starke Rand verleiht dem Napf Stabilität. Gumminoppen am Boden helfen, Kratzer auf der Abstellfläche zu vermeiden.
