About the company

Friesland Porzellan corporate philosophy – Our values – As a brand, Friesland Porzellan stands not only for good porcelain but is also associated with northern German style and character. The design reflects the straightforwardness of the Frisian landscape and way of life. Northern Germans are generally considered to be people of few words, but we would nevertheless like to put into words for you the values we stand for as a company: Craftsmanship We use a mixture of traditional manufacturing and proven technology, but we are also open to innovation. In many respects, our factory resembles a manufactory: most of the production work is done by hand, with machines providing support. As a result, the proportion of manual work in our production is very high. For products made using the slip casting process, it reaches almost 100%. Decorating and glazing are always done by hand, too. Our employees can rely on their experience, which guarantees consistent quality for you. Made in Germany We believe in Germany as a production location and manufacture exclusively here. You will not get any imported goods from us! We also attach importance to our regional roots. From design to dispatch, we do everything under "one roof". We are an independent medium-sized company, not part of a group. Many of our employees have been permanently employed with us for several decades and live in the surrounding towns. We are genuinely Frisian. Sustainability We want to conserve our environment's resources. On the factory premises, we operate our own sewage treatment plant, which cleans our production wastewater before it leaves the site. This relieves the burden on the municipality. Broken porcelain produced during production is fed back into the production cycle or processed further. And last but not least, we deliver our products to end customers in plastic-free, recyclable packaging. Quality We attach great importance to a long product life. Suitability for everyday use in your home is very important to us. The European limit values for glazes are of course complied with and checked regularly. Animal welfare advocates will certainly be interested to know that the raw materials we process are purely mineral. At Friesland, you only get porcelain that is free from animal products (vegan).
